Never forgotten.............What is a HERO?

It is much more than someone who makes the decision to tote the gear and airpack into a burning building. It is someone who is not afraid to step out of their comfort zone to aid a person in need. Someone who is not afraid to go against the grain. Someone who is built of courage, selflessness, dedication, and hardwork. Someone who leaves behind a legacy that they have carved with honor, bravery, and sacrifice. That is what these men have done for our community and our department. The names etched upon the stones is an everyday reminder of the HEROES that have gone before us. These men have paved the road of culture that we attempt to uphold today. The sacrifices that these men have made and their attributes is what breeds the culture of hard work ethic, grit, dedication, aggressiveness, honor, courage, humility, and selfless service that remains the foundation of this department. May these HEROES never be forgotten and always appreciated for the sacrifice and the time that they devoted to our great community and this department.
